Burcu Kapar

Burcu Kapar is an assistant professor in Economics and Finance Department at the American University in Dubai.

With a Ph.D. and an M.Sc. in Financial Economics from City, University of London in the UK and a B.Sc. in Management Engineering from Istanbul Technical University in Turkey, she has a background in applied econometrics, macroeconomics and empirical finance. Before joining to AUD, she worked in City, University of London as an adjunct instructor and postgraduate research assistant. She has a four year banking industry experience as a Corporate Banking Specialist in Turkey.

Her research focuses on credit derivatives, interbank market, asset pricing and crypto-currencies. She has published in many academic journals, has received research awards and presented at international academic conferences. She is the member of European Economic Association and the Society for Nonlinear Dynamics and Econometrics.
